Rye Smile Caricatures is a husband and wife team, Kev and Jill Rye. We're not the cheapest but we are top quality - our work speaks for itself.

Rye Smile Caricatures is a husband and wife team, Kev and Jill Rye. We're not the cheapest but we are top quality - our work speaks for itself. Kev is a fantastic caricature entertainer and Jill is the boss, financial advisor and photographer. Kev's work always draws the crowds and guarantees fun and laughter - big smiles, big noses, big teeth and then there are the drawings! Also included in quotes for wedding bookings is an A3 B&W caricature of the 'happy couple' drawn from photos in advance of the big day. Kev and Jill have often been told they look a lot like Richard Gere and Helen Mirren but more importantly Kev is very talented with the pencil and marker pen. Kev is an East Devon based caricature artist with many years’ experience as an artist and entertainer. Kev's caricatures are a great addition to any event – weddings, parties, corporate functions and trade stands. His drawings provide a superb talking point and are just the thing to bring people together.

What to expect

Jill often accompanies Kev and takes photographs of your guests with their caricature. Jill is great at striking up a rapport with guests while they wait to have their caricature drawn. Kev usually draws at an easel. As a guide, more people can be drawn while Kev sits at an easel. Drawing at an easel allows guests to stand behind and watch as the caricature is drawn, which also provides most of the entertainment. Kev uses high quality A4 card and specialist marker pens. Each caricature takes approximately 4 minutes (or less) and thus could produce 15 faces per hour. Included are clear plastic pockets to protect the finished artwork, if required.

A fabulous evening

Such good fun having Kevin and Jill at our evening wedding reception - they really entertained our guests! The staff at Pentillie Castle told us the next morning that that laughter could be heard at the furthest end of the building. A fabulous evening, thank you very much indeed.

I would definitely recommend Kevin and Jill for your function especially if you want something a bit different and unique. Our guests loved having their portraits done and it was great for them to have something to take away too. Kevin and Jill were so genuine and friendly, it was lovely having them at our wedding. Kevin & Jill made a fantastic addition to our works Christmas party. They turned up early and quietly set up whilst we had our meal.
